1. Tell us a bit about Excelence and its business. What makes you ‘The Italian Incoming Specialist’?
EXCELLENCE DMC is an expert destination management company specialized in handling in Italy of a very wide range of services. We serve since decades foreign customers helping them to deliver to their clients complete travel solutions in Italy, one of the most beautiful country in the world but also one of the more complex to operate. Our knowledge of each centimetre of the country, of each special experience and the presence from North to South with own offices (Milan-Rome-Messina) gives us the full control of operations and contributes to deliver perfect operations and to ensure the highest level of service and assistance, from our point of view the factor that can makes the difference.

2. What are the latest development in the Italian tourism sector and how do you see the future? How does Italy stay competitive among other countries in the region in today’s dynamic and fast changing tourism environment?
Together with the classical destinations (Rome-Florence-Milan-Venice) and classical packages, new destinations (Sicily, Apulia, Amalfi Coast, Lakes areas, Cinqueterre) and new special interest tours, based on new experiences (gastronomy, folklore, festivals, opera and sports, local traditions and so on) are growing a lot.

3. What are the latest trends of the Chinese tourists visiting Italy and Europe in general?
We are experiencing more last minutes reservations and still a bigger percentage of business travelers compared to leisure travelers. At same time the individual segment is growing very fast.

4. What are your company’s plans and objectives in the Chinese outbound market?
We are looking to establish long term cooperation with stable partners both in groups ( we have an high flow of passengers from all around the world so we can grant big allocations of rooms and competitive rates) and individual segment (we do have a bed bank integrable via XML)

5. What would you highlight as the biggest challenges of European tourism operators doing business in China and how is your company overcoming these difficulties?
More and more frequently we get enquiries of hotel accommodations need only because Chinese operators prefer to operate land services by themselves. This cannot grant a good quality and control of the itinerary so we aim to get the full arrangement in order to offer a better service. We can offer Chinese tour operators more competitive rates if we are requested the full arrangement.

6. Why did you decide to participate at Shanghai World Travel Fair? What do you expect from your participation at this show? What kind of buyers and visitors would you like to meet during the show?
China is the market to be now and in the future and a fast way to be known is participating at exhibition, meeting in a short time a big number of potential clients. We welcome all those companies wishing to have a reliable and stable partner in Europe.

7. You are also participating at the Chengdu Travel Trade Market that will take place from 5-7 September 2018. How do you see the opportunities in this part of China? What makes them attractive markets?
Chengdu is the heart of a very fast growing area in China from the economical point of view and we strongly want to be there among the firsts. We have been participating also last year and the response has been very good.
